    If you folks are looking for a place to settle, might I suggest Wythe County, VA? It’s one of the more beautiful counties in SW Va. We have both the mountains and the New River. And we could really use a good carpenter.

    You my friends are where I would like to live out the rest of my life. To be able to draw my last breath with the beauty of those mountains filling my eyes would be the closest thing to heaven on earth.
    I am 57 lost my wife 12 years ago, and it seems all I’ve been doing is waiting to die. One of the few things that have brought me pleasure in my life since her passing is the times I was able to visit the mountains, hoping that someday I would find myself there.
    But because of the economy I haven’t been to the mountains now in years. And I begin to wonder if my one dream will ever be realized. Still I keep my hopes alive by visiting Maries Blue Ridge Blog every day to see the stunning shots she shares with us from the flat side of life.
    I will now add your site to my list of places I visit to get my fix for the mountains. All of you are truly blessed to be living in a mystical, magical place as you do.
    Thank you for sharing your pictures with me.
    Sincerely;
    Rick Sheafer

    I happily stumbled upon your blog earlier this year as I searched for something, can’t remember what now. I enjoy your writing, your photos and your sense of humor so much. You share your testimony so transparently through your thoughts.

    I was wondering if I could have permission to use one of your photos of the Great Crested Flycatcher birds as an inspiration for artwork I’ll be doing for a postcard. My family makes soap in Newton (near Hickory NC) and we send out postcards as invitations to our Christmas open house. My mom is in love with birds and I wanted to incorporate that theme with the invitation this year. Please let me know your thoughts on this. Feel free to email me and if I don’t hear from you, I’ll think of something else. jennifer[at]omysoap.com

    Thank you,
